Watercolor mugs

Want a new originally designed cup? Need to present a small pretty thing for a lovely person? Found watercolor mug, but you don`t like the colors of pattern? Or you don`t want to spend extract money and what to save it? We can offer you easy DIY personalized coffee mugs of your dream in 5 minutes.

What do you need to design your cup?

Lots of DIYs have an unpleasant drawback — you need to buy most of the items to create, what you want. All necessary things for DIY decorated coffee mugs are things of common usage every person. So, to create unusually designed cups you have to use only three items:
• Mug without any other pattern.
• Nail polish.
• Free plastic bowl, in which you can deepen your cup enough.
If you have all this stuff at home, you can start expressing your creativity right now!

How to decorate a mug?

First of all, prepare a plastic bowl, entirely filling it with warm water. Be sure, that you don`t want to use it for food in the future, because nail polish is dangerous for person`s health. Than do such actions quickly:
• Drop a few of enamel on the water and let it spread out.
• Add other colours if you want.
• Design your own watercolor pattern using a toothpick.
• Deepen a cup and wait for a second and then lift it out and check the transferred pattern.

Remember to do the instructions very quickly, because nail polish can dry up on the water surface. You will be surprised to see the result at once. If you want to clear messed up a pattern or excess print, use a nail polish remover. Then clap the cup with a paper towel to dry water. Finally, you can leave it for at least three hours.

How to save a beauty of a cup for a long time?

To save yourself from the danger of nail polish`s harmful chemicals, use an acrylic spray when the design has already dried up. Avoid the internal side and the place where you touch the mug with your mouth.
Remember, that handmade designs are very delicate, so don`t let the cups heat to high temperatures. Try not to use DIY coffee cups in a microwave oven! Also, do not put them into the dishwasher, because they need a special care and can be only hand-washed.

Ideas

As for the present, we recommend creating a full set of cups and teapot. Experiment with any other object for usage: plates, vases, statues. This method is great for creating different original souvenirs to be remembered by guests.
If you are bored with created design, try to change it repeating the same instructions one more time. Make such beautiful presents for friends and family and be happy!
