How To Make Tonic For The Face

You can buy a ready-to-use tonic in a store, choosing one of a variety of what cosmetics market offers, but it would be much more effective to make your own natural cleanser considering your skin type. To make a tonic at home, you will need a small amount of ingredients and a little time.

Tonics For Dry Skin

Dry skin needs constant moisturizing and protection. With a homemade tonic made from natural high-quality components, your face will get velvet smoothness and become taut. Moreover, it will smooth wrinkles and give your skin healthy shine. You can use homemade cleansers 2-4 times a day.

Grapefruit Tonic

Specific properties: nourishes and softens skin, removes dead cells from skin surface.

Ingredients: 10 ml of spirit or vodka (dilute with triple amount of mineral water), one small grapefruit, 5 ml of glycerin, 2 g of fine sea salt.

Instructions: squeeze the juice from the grapefruit. Mix the ingredients in a small dark glass bottle and shake it for five minutes. Put in a cold place for 3 days.

Banana Tonic

Specific properties: intensely moisturizes, freshens and tones skin.

Ingredients: one banana, 50 ml of fat milk, 5 ml of lemon juice.

Instructions: peel the banana and mash it into puree in a blender. Add milk and lemon juice, whipping it up for a minute or so at high speed. Filter the tonic through a sieve and store in a refrigerator in a tightly closed container.

Tonics For Oily-Prone Skin

Oily and combined skin requires regulation of the secreted sebum, light drying and pore narrowing. Due to the propensity to acne it is necessary to clean the pores regularly (in particular, comedones on the nose, forehead and chin).

Salt Tonic

Specific properties: lightens and dries skin, narrows pores.

Ingredients: 10 g of fine sea salt, 10 ml of lemon juice, 5 drops of tea tree essential oil, 40 ml of mineral water.

Instructions: mix all ingredients until salt is completely dissolved. Clean skin with the tonic in the morning and in the evening.

Cabbage Juice Tonic

Specific properties: cleans skin from excess fat, lightens comedones.

Ingredients: 5 cabbage leaves, 5 sprigs of parsley, one cucumber, 5 ml of spirit or vodka.

Instructions: put cabbage leaves, parsley and a cucumber in a blender bowl and mash into homogenous puree. Add spirit, mix and decoct in a refrigerator for a day. Then filter the liquid through a cheesecloth, pour 20 ml of still mineral water in and shake.

Tonics For Sensitive Skin

Sensitive and allergy-prone skin requires special care. The ingredients of a tonic must be completely natural, hypoallergenic and soothing. You need to avoid the use of spirit, otherwise your skin will react in redness and severe burning. The main components of sensitive skin cosmetics are herbs.

Strawberry Tonic

Specific properties: freshens, soothes and moisturizes skin.

Ingredients: 100 g of fresh strawberry, 40 ml of still mineral water, 5 drops of rosewood essential oil.

Instructions: remove peduncles from strawberries and rub through a fine sieve. Squeeze the juice using cheesecloth. Add mineral water and rosewood oil. Store the tonic in a refrigerator for no longer than three days and clean your skin with it 2-3 times a day.

Egg Tonic

Specific properties: deeply nourishes, freshens and softens sensitive facial skin.

Ingredients: one yolk, 10 ml of aloe juice, 30 ml of fat cream, 5 ml of jojoba oil, 40 ml of mineral water.

Instructions: whip all ingredients with a whisk until they form a homogenous substance. Filter through several layers of cheesecloth. Apply to skin up to four times a day (no additional moisturizing with creams needed).
