Hi everyone!
Here’s to all the ladies that are desperately looking for new accessories for this summer. A few days ago I saw this cool Copacabana Bracelet by Aurelie Bidermann. I fell in love but the price is extremely high for this one. And I didn’t like the colors of the braid that much. And then I have found this DIY tutorial on how to make the same one by yourself that is going to cost you three times less. And the best part is that you can choose the colors you like.
The hardest part though is to drill the holes in the cuff so if you are not sure whether you can do it by yourself or not ask someone to help you with this step.
Here is what you will need:
- 1/2″ blank brass cuff
- 6 skeins of embroidery thread
- 1 skein of metallic gold embroidery thread
- an embroidery needle
- a rotary drill
- a drill bit
Take your embroidery skeins and cut 2 threads for each shade of the color that you choose to create ombré effect in the size of about 2 feet. Take 3-4 strands of gold floss and gather all threads together into a knot. Start braiding to the size of the bracelet and close it with a loose knot in case you’ll need to braid more.
Now start drilling the holes in the cuff. Put the paper tape inside the bracelet before you will start drilling to make nice, aligned holes. The holes should be on 10-12mm distance.
Take the gold floss and thread it into the needle. Make a double knot on the end and thread through the first cuff hole. Thread through the top of the middle of the braid and thread back into the second cuff hole. Repeat until you’ll tread all the braid to the cuff. Regulate your braid longer or shorter if needed.
When you have finished with threading, stick the gold thread back and tie it into a knot. Trim the ends of the braid for them to look nice.
Voila! Now you are all set and ready to go with your new amazing bracelet that looks so chick and bomb. Enjoy!
