How To Dye Yarn

If sometimes the soul needs something so that you cannot buy, try dyeing yarn at home. Dyeing your own yarn is quite simple, you only try once and you are sure to like it. After all, as a result there is complete independence from the whims of yarn producers and the widest field for the fantasy to please any creative person.

For dying you will need:

  • white yarn;
  • food colorant;
  • syringe;
  • vinegar;
  • microwave.

Distribute the yarn into equal parts, equal to the number of colors.

Tie each skein. Lay the yarn in water with a little vinegar for 30 minutes.

Prepare the colorants, for example, for Easter eggs, following the instructions on the package.

Place the skeins in the package, as shown in the photo. With a large syringe gently apply the dye on the yarn.

Put the packages into a suitable container, and then - in a microwave oven. Use the mode 3-5 times for 2 minutes at a power of about 600 watts.

Allow the packages to cool down. Then rinse each skein separately in a lukewarm water.

Squeeze out the yarn with a towel, and let it dry out.
