Many people believe that only talented person can paint nice and beautiful pictures. However, everyone can learn how to do it if he or she has enough courage and desire. All you need is the basic painting set, a little bit of time, and the willingness to master something new.
To prove it, let us see the step by step instruction on how to paint trees in acrylic. It is a basic lesson for those who just started opening the painting process.
The preparing stage
Before getting down directly to the working process, prepare the acrylic paints, the tools, and the proper base of your future masterpiece. For painting trees in acrylic, you may use canvas, wood, or the special paper. Next, prepare the palette by squeezing the paints on it. The colors depend on the objects you are going to paint. It is recommended to have a proper brush and sponges to easily succeed in the process of painting a tree.
After the preparation stage is done, nothing holds you back from painting trees in acrylic. Here are two ways to paint the trees: by using a sponge together with a brush or with a brush only.
How to paint a tree step by step by using a sponge
As practice shows, it is reasonable to start with the trunk. Choose the flat brush (something around ½ inches) and the black color first. Apply the small amount of paint and draw a line from the bottom to the top. Do not twist the brush; use it very flat without turning. Take more paint if you need and continue to paint from the top to the bottom. This time, when you are at the bottom, go straight to the side to form the roots.
When the roots and trunk are ready, start painting the branches. Just pull them out of the trunk making the upper part of the trunk separated.
Take the sponge, make it round by twisting and pinching it. Start with the dark green color. Soak the sponge into the acrylic paint and put in the leaves of the tree.
Next, you have to give your tree some highlights by using a lighter green. Apply it to the top portions of each group of leaves.
