Everyone cooks hash browns in one`s own way. There is no an example of their similar cooking. Someone grates potatoes for hash browns on a large grater, someone – on a small one, and someone chops potatoes in a food processor or a blender. But all these differences are not important, because everyone likes hash browns. As they are.
To cook hash browns, you will need the following:
First, one needs to peel many potatoes and wash them hard.
It is required to get not just potato hash browns, but harsh ones, potatoes should be shredded. So, take a grater and carefully in order not to hurt your hands, grate potatoes.
Then, it is required to squeeze excess water from grated potatoes. To do this, salt potatoes (salt contributes to the separation of food liquid), stir grated potatoes and drain excess liquid from the dish.
Now crack three eggs into the dish with potatoes. Eggs are required in order to avoid crumbling of your hash browns. Add 2-3 cloves of garlic to potatoes. One needs to either chop garlic or pass it through a garlic crusher.
Thoroughly stir everything. If excess liquid appears in the bowl while cooking, it must be rather drained. Put a frying pan on a stove, pour seed oil into it and warm it up.
Put out some grated potatoes with the fork into the boiling oil and press with the fork to make them flat in order to get flat hash browns. Thus, they will fry better.
Fry hash browns hard to get a golden brown from both sides.
Take hash browns from the frying pan and lay aside on a napkin to let them lose extra oil.
Repeat the operation until the grated potatoes are up. Take care about a guard if you want your hash browns to be served on a table. In some families, they have a strange property to disappear from a dish as soon as one turns away! Certainly, one needs to serve hash browns on a table with sour cream.
