Making a man from scratch isn't easy, but it can be done with the right tools and knowledge. Here's how:
1. Gather materials - You'll need clay, wire mesh, plaster of Paris or epoxy resin for your man's body and facial features.
2. Make the frame - Use wire mesh to create an armature that will form the basis of your man's body shape. This should include legs, arms, torso and head.
3. Add details - Cover the armature with clay to give your man his desired proportions and add facial features such as eyes, nose and mouth using small pieces of clay or plasticine if needed.
4. Bake/dry – Place in an oven at low heat (100-150 degrees) until dry or allow to air dry depending on material used for body construction; this could take several days depending on thickness of materials used so patience is key!
5 Paint & finish – Once dried you can paint your man’s face with acrylic paints then seal him with a protective coating such as varnish or polyurethane spray for longevity
