Books are magical. Do you remember what it felt like the first time you fell in love with one? How you’d carry it everywhere, intoxicated by the weight of it in your hands or the feel of the paper under your fingertips? The story was important, but it was only part of the experience. How just the sight of it could ground you, bring you comfort, and make you feel at home?
This bracelet will allow you to carry a piece of that magic with you everywhere you go.
This bracelet is made with beads that I hand roll from the pages of second hand books. I source the books that I use from local thrift stores and deliberately take the most beat up copies I can find – thereby supporting local small businesses and repurposing books that might otherwise end up in the trash.
Your bracelet is made to order and will not look exactly like the one in the picture. Each page in each book is different, which means that no two bracelets are ever identical.
This bracelet has been strung on stretchy string which means no fussing with clasps or buckles or worrying it’s going to come open and get lost. Just slip it on and go! (Which is a huge bonus for kids and people who have issues with their hands and joints!)
You can choose between 3 sizes – small (approximately 17cm/7in), medium (approximately 20cm/8in) and large (approximately 23cm/9in).
Although these beads are made from paper, they are sealed and water resistant. This means you don’t have to worry about getting caught in the rain or washing your hands.
This particular bracelet is made out of the book “Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” by Mo Willems.
