Papermaking Basic Sheet Forming & Pulp Painting

On October, 23rd and 24th from 1:15 pm to 4:45 pm in Williamsburg will be held Handmade Papermaking Basic Sheet Forming & Pulp Painting at Carriage House Paper. The Instructor of workshop is Wendy Shalen. On Monday he will cover basic techniques of Western papermaking including sheet forming, pressing and drying. Using a mould and deckle, participants will form their own Cotton/Abaca sheets. On Tuesday you will explore image making and pulp painting in hand papermaking using pigmented pulp. Students will learn about internal sizing, pigmenting the pulp and discover the endless creative possibilities of handmade papermaking. Price for two days includind materials fee is $290.
