Sewing Adventures 1

So this started out as a simple wedding dress in my head because I had several yards of wedding satin. Then I stumbled across leftover blue satin and chiffon in one of my totes. It looked so pretty that I knew a princess dress was happening. I like to cut fabric sitting on my bed, watching Netflix. I use the lid to a large tote as a cutting board. I spread out my fabric across the lid and lay out my pattern I try to place every piece so that it will look perfect when sewn together. The satin is frustrating to cut because it slides across the scissor. I end using a lot of pins to keep both the satin and chiffon from leaving.

So the doll dress proved complicated. It is actually the second dress of this design that I have made so far. The first dress ended up being crooked and I had to take it in to fix it. So this is the first dress to be ready to sell. I used my serger to piece together the dress. Then I finished all the basic details on my sewing machine. Once I was satisfied that its ready, I add it to my hand sewing pile.

Finally I sit down with my beads and the dress of choice. I plan out where I want to put the beads and then I carefully sew every bead in place. I love adding sparkles and glamor to a dress.

www.facebook.com/fracturedluna

www.instagram.com/lunabryna
